Spring training with the whole family
Plan the practical parts of a family baseball trip to Tempe, from the official schedule to downtime between games.

When baseball is the reason for your trip, it is tempting to plan everything around the games. A little thought about the hours before and after them can make the visit work better for everyone—including the family members who are mainly along for the company.
Choose the game before shaping the day
The Angels’ spring-training home is Tempe Diablo Stadium. Start with the official Angels spring-training page for the relevant season.
Check the exact date, venue, and start time before arranging the rest of the trip. If you are visiting more than one ballpark, make a separate travel plan for each. Do not assume that two games in the Phoenix area have the same parking arrangements or journey time.
Match the seats to the people coming
Think about how long younger children are likely to enjoy sitting, whether anyone needs easier access to facilities, and how comfortable your group will be outdoors. Review the venue’s seating information and contact it directly if someone has an accessibility requirement.
Check current bag, stroller, food, and drink policies before packing for the day. Rules belong to the venue, so an old family packing list may no longer be right. Decide which essentials to bring only after reading the current guidance.
Keep arrival and departure realistic
Allow space in the plan for parking, walking to the entrance, and finding your seats. Avoid putting a tightly timed restaurant reservation immediately after the game. A flexible dinner makes it easier to leave when your family is ready.
Share a meeting point in case your group separates. If some people want to stay longer, agree on transport in advance rather than trying to solve it when the younger children are tired.
Give the non-baseball hours a purpose
A park outing, a slow breakfast, or time together at the house can balance a game day. Our local guide has a few ideas, but it is fine to leave an entire afternoon open.
At The Walcott, there is a kitchen for meals on your own schedule, a pool table for a little friendly competition, and separate bedrooms for the end of the day. Pool time requires adult supervision of children, and you should confirm pool conditions if swimming is central to your plans.
Book the stay with the full picture
Before reserving, compare your travel dates with check-in and check-out times. Enter everyone staying overnight in the booking details, and review cancellation terms before paying. Tickets and accommodation can have different conditions.
