A family stay in South Tempe, at your own pace
Sleeping arrangements, simple meals, and flexible outings: a practical starting point for a family vacation in South Tempe.

A family trip does not need a full calendar to feel like a good one. It needs a comfortable place to land, a few outings everyone can enjoy, and enough space between them for the ordinary things: breakfast, naps, laundry, and deciding what is for dinner.
South Tempe can work well for that kind of visit. At The Walcott, your home base includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a private pool, and a neighborhood park across the street. Here is how to plan a stay around the people coming with you.
Start with sleeping arrangements
Before picking activities, work out who needs a quiet room, who is happy sharing, and whether a child’s bedtime affects the rest of the group. A maximum guest count is useful, but it does not tell you whether a particular layout suits your family.
The Walcott has a separate primary bedroom, another queen bedroom, a bunk room, and a sofa bed in the living area. Look through the sleeping arrangements and ask us about anything that matters to your group. The bunk’s listed weight limit is 150 lb; confirm which sleeping space is appropriate before assigning beds.
Give the first day some breathing room
For arrival day, choose an easy meal and leave the rest open. Check-in starts at 3 p.m. If your flight arrives much earlier, plan for the gap rather than relying on early access. An unpacked suitcase and something in the fridge often do more for the first evening than another reservation.
Decide which meals you want to cook before shopping. A short list—breakfasts, a few snacks, and one shared dinner—helps you avoid buying a week’s worth of groceries for a weekend visit. Check with us if you need a particular kitchen item.
Pick one main outing each day
Make the park, a museum, or another attraction the day’s main plan, then treat the rest as optional. With mixed ages, it can help to split up for an hour or two and meet back at the house. Nobody has to enjoy exactly the same activity for the trip to feel shared.
Our local guide is a starting point. Use the linked official websites for opening hours, tickets, and seasonal availability before setting out. We deliberately do not build itineraries around fixed driving times: traffic and your destination’s parking arrangements can change the day.
Keep the home days in the plan
A pool afternoon, a game of pool indoors, and dinner on the patio can be the whole plan. Children need active adult supervision around the water; a fence does not replace that. Confirm pool conditions with us if swimming is central to your trip.
For a multigenerational stay, tell us about any mobility or equipment needs before booking. Photos are a useful introduction, but they cannot answer every question about entrances, bathroom layouts, or the space beside a bed.
Check the details before paying
Enter your actual dates and full guest group in Lodgify’s booking widget. Read the total, any fees, payment schedule, and cancellation terms before confirming. Then share the arrival and house-rule information with everyone traveling—not just the person who made the booking.
